The great novelist Mark Twain once described the Jews this way: 

If statistics are right, the Jews constituted but one percent of the human race. It suggests a nebulous dim puff of stardust lost in the blaze of the Milky Way. Properly, the Jews ought hardly to be heard of, but he is heard of, has always been heard of. He is as prominent on the planet as any other people, and his commercial importance is extravagantly out of proportion to the smallness of his bulk. His contributions to the world's list of great names in literature, science, art, music, finance, medicine, and abstruse learning are also always out of proportion to the weakness of his numbers. He has made a marvelous fight in this world, in all the ages; and has done it with his hands tied behind him. He could be vain of himself, and be excused for it. The Egyptian, the Babylonian, and the Persian rose, filled the planet with sound and splendor, then faded to dream-stuff and passed away; the Greek and the Roman followed; and made a vast noise, and they are gone; other people have sprung up and held their torch high for a time, but it burned out, and they sit in twilight now, or have vanished. The Jew saw them all, beat them all, and is now what he always was, exhibiting no decadence, no infirmities of age, no weakening of his parts, no slowing of his energies, no dulling of his alert and aggressive mind. All things are mortal but the Jew; all other forces pass, but he remains. What is the secret of his immortality? 

What is the secret of the immortality of the Jews? As Mark Twain wrote in 1897, the civilizations of Egypt, Babylon, Greece and Rome, which flourished at the same time as the ancient Jewish civilization, were once glorious, but they all had long ceased to exist, and today only some excavated artifacts are left in the museums to prove their existence. But the ancient Jewish people are still as vigorous today as they were in ancient time. Not only that, but in the fifty years after Mark Twain wrote the article, or two thousand years after the destruction of the nation by the Romans, the nation Israel was miraculously reborn! The Jews who had been exiled and scattered all over the world were miraculously regathered back to the land of their ancestor, and today the nation is a strong and prosperous state in the Middle East. Not only that, Hebrew, the Jewish language that had been declared ‘dead’ for more than a thousand years, was brought back to life again with the return of the Jews to Israel. Today, Hebrew is the official language of the State of Israel, used by 10 million Israelis. In human history, no other nation that has been destroyed is ever restored after two thousand years; nor has the language of any other nation that was dead for nearly two thousand years and then come back to life again. What is the secret of the immortality of the Jews? 

The answer to this question is actually quite simple: the secret of the immortality of the Jews is that God's hand continues to be upon them, because God is keeping them alive! And this is because the Jews have a very important role to play in God's end times plan. To put it simply, the secret of the immortality of the Jews is the hand of God is on them! 

Here the author will explore the roles of the Jews and the nation of Israel in God's plan for the end times in the Bible, and provide more detailed historical facts about the restoration of the Jews in our generation. These historical facts are evidences that the restoration of modern Israel is God's work.
